Mavic Air 2 – The better version of Mavic Air

DJI recently unveiled newer version of Mavic Air, the Mavic Air 2. The Mavic Air 2 borrows some features form its older sibling but is much better than Mavic Air.

DJI has increased the weight of Mavic Air 2 compared to its predecessor and is one-third heavier than the Mavic Air. The Mavic Air 2 weighs 570 grams. Not only the Mavic Air 2 is heavier, the Mavic Air 2 is also bigger than its predecessor. It has a dimension of 180 x 97 x84mm when folded and 183 x 252 x 77mm when unfolded.

The Mavic Air 2 gets a 3500mAh battery, which has contributed in its efficient flight duration. Mavic Air 2 has flight time of 34 minutes and hover time of 33 minutes. The Mavic Air 2can cover maximum of 18.5 km flight distance and has 5000m as max service ceiling above sea level.

The Mavic Air 2 will be the first drone to get 8K Hyperlase and to record video at 120 Mbps bitrate. The camera on Mavic Air 2 can also shoot on other resolutions like 4K, 2.7K, and 1080. Users are expected to get the 8K Hyperlapse via firmware update which is expected to be available at the mid of May.

Mavic Air 2 is able to shoot in 4K at 60 fps and capture 1080p slow-motion video at 120 and 240 fps. It has max live view bitrate of 40Mbps and can transmit videos from distance up to 10km

As a major safety feature, it comes with DJI’s brand new AirSense safety technology. Mavic Air 2 comes loaded with Advanced Pilot Assistance System 3.0. Apart from this, it also equipped with obstacle sensor to aware the users regarding the surrounding.

The Mavic Air 2 will be available at the price of $799 in international market.
