Toyota has joined the premium hatchback segment with the Toyota Glanza the rebadged form of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno. Toyota has joined the premium hatchback segment league with just a single petrol option.
The design, dimensions of the Glanza remains unchanged from Baleno. It is tough for one to differentiate between the Glanza and the Baleno if the badge and the front grille are covered.
A BS6 compliant, 4-cylinder 1.2-litre petrol engine connected to a 5-speed manual transmission powers the Toyota Glanza. Toyota Glanza also gets Automatic transmission (CVT) as an option. Toyota Glanza is available in two variants the G and V based on the Zeta and Alpha trims of Baleno.
Talking about the features, the Toyota Glanza gets 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, auto-dimming electrochromic IRVM. It also gets LED DRLs, fog lamps, auto LED projector headlamps, alloy wheels and auto AC.
As safety features, Glanza packs ABS with EBD, dual airbags, ISOFIX child seat anchors. Glanza is also equipped with reverse parking sensors, reverse parking camera, front seat belts with pre-tensioners and force limiters and high-speed warning alert.
The claimed mileage ranges from 19.56 to 23.87 kmpl. The automatic variant is expected to deliver 19.56 kmpl and the manual version is expected to deliver the mileage of 23.87.
Toyota Glanza is available in Sportin Red, Cafe White, Insta Blue, Gaming Grey and Enticing Silver colour options.
The Glanza competes with Hyundai Elite i20, Volkswagen Polo and Tata Altroz.
